Focus Groups: Winter and Fall Line-Up

Family Proclamation Discussion Group

Join women of all ages and experience for uplifting discussion and fortifying treats. We are basing our discussions on essays in the book Strengthening Our Families: An In-Depth Look at the Proclamation on the Family. The purpose of this group is to discuss, learn, teach and support the principles of happy and successful family life as revealed in The Family: A Proclamation to the World. President Hinckley explained why such emphasis on the importance of the family was needed:

"Why do we have this proclamation on the family now? Because the family is under attack. All across the world families are falling apart. The place to begin to improve society is in the home. children do, for the most part, what they are taught. We are trying to make the world better by making the family stronger."

We meet on the 4th Thursday each month at 8pm. Check the Schedule for the next host home and discussion leader.

Self-Reliance Study Group

Join women of all ages and experience for practical discussion and innovative refreshment. Each evening will include a topic centered around the principle of self-reliance. The purpose of this group is to come together to learn from each other as we share information and experiences about varying topics such as: Basic Family Home Storage, Using Wheat in your home, Canning, Drying and Freezing Your Fruits and Vegetables, Incorporating Powdered Milk into your Family's Everyday Diet, 72 hour kits, and Family and Community Emergency Preparedness.
"We all should be looking to greater self-sufficiency, a greater spirit of self-reliance, a greater desire to take care of ourselves and our own" (Gordon B. Hinckley, in Conference Report, Oct. 1982, 111; or Ensign, Nov. 1982, 76).
We meet on the 2nd Thurday each month at 8pm. Check the Schedule for the next host home and discussion leader.
